Walking in Helambu
Helambu sits on the rim of the Kathmandu valley, the easiest region in Nepal to reach and one of the gentlest to walk. The trails roll through terraced hillsides and the apple-orchard villages of the Hyolmo Sherpa people, rarely climbing high enough to worry about altitude, with the Langtang and Jugal peaks as a backdrop.
It is ideal for a short first trek, a family outing, or a winter walk when the high routes are closed. We are adding scheduled Helambu departures — ask us about a short guided loop or a Helambu–Langtang combination.
